JEREMY'S HOMEPAGE
Copyright and Art/POV Disclaimer
You know what this page is for.
I'm all for the freedom of information-- else I wouldn't have POV source
on my web page! -- but I don't want to find one of my works on someone
else's site without credit or permission. Okay?
No artist designs in a vacuum; we are all influenced by the ideas and
techniques of others. In a large part, this is how we learn.
So, look around my site. Note the organization, the layout and the flow.
Download the POV code, trace it, mess with the settings to see what happens.
Learn.
Just don't rip me off.
The Rules
Text and HTML Source
- All text on this site is copyright © January 1997 Jeremy D. Monin.
This includes directions, explainations, opinions and notes.
- The layout and techniques I use to compose my pages are public
domain. I designed the layout, I coded the HTML, and I don't mind if
others benefit from my efforts. So, open season on that. Go ahead,
cut and paste.
- JavaScript may be used freely.
I have no responsibility for anything it does to your computer.
Art and Graphics
- All graphics on this site are copyright © January 1997
Jeremy D. Monin. This includes images, backgrounds, bullets and
horizontal rules.
- Artwork, which is in the Gallery and
the main Home page, may be used with
permission if credit is given. E-mail me for permission;
chances are very good I'll say yes. I'm proud to have my work displayed.
- If you wish to use other images (such as the HTML
Sawhorse or the New! logo),
email me about that.
I'll probably say yes.
- Don't bother asking to use bullets, horiz. rules, etc. Permission is
hereby granted to copy them shamelessly.
- You may not copy my background. I figure if you can't
emboss a plasma field by yourself, well... ;-)
POV Source Code (.POV and .INC files)
- These files are my work. Don't download them, trace the image, and call
it your own. All .POV and .INC files are copyright © January
1997 Jeremy D. Monin.
- Feel free to download the files and play with them. Change settings,
pigments, camera angles, lights, etc. Take things out. Put things
in. Learn.
- If your .POV or .INC file came from one of mine, but it's different in a
nontrivial way, then it's yours, and I'm glad I could help out.
- The .POV and .INC files contain many textures, objects, etc. that are of
my design. You may use these unchanged in your own work, if credit
is given somewhere in your file. Example:
#include "jertxtr.inc" // Jeremy Monin's Stone Textures
- If you got a .POV file from here, but POV says you're missing an .INC
that I specified, don't despair! I have a list
of Jeremy's .INC Files. The only ones not there are like 600k
in length.
- What you do with my .POV stuff is your business. I have no responsibility
for anything that happens to your computer.
Well, that's it.
Thanks.
